Dogs In Need of Rehoming

At Acadia Canine Academy, we believe that owning a dog is a lifelong commitment. However, life can present unexpected challenges that may lead to the difficult decision of rehoming a beloved pet.

Acadia Canine Academy acts as a bridge for individuals wishing to rehome dogs and those looking to adopt. Please be aware that Acadia Canine Academy does not take responsibility for the health or behavior of the dogs; we cannot guarantee successful matches between dogs and their new owners. Our primary aim is to facilitate connections and assist in the rehoming process, helping to create a smoother transition for both the canine and their new families.

ZEUS- SUCCESSFULLY PLACED
Male Cane Corso For Sale

ZEUS is a 6-month-old Male Cane Corso for  adoption. Zeus is currently 80 pounds, he will top out at 150 pounds. Zeus is housebroken and trained in basic obedience. We accepted Zeus directly from a breeder in California and began his training immediately for the person who contracted with us to train him. Unfortunately, that person ran up a bill for training, feeding, and health care with us to the tune of $14,000.00, and then abandoned the dog with us, leaving a balance of $10,000.00 unpaid. I cannot keep this pup as I have 11 of my own dogs. This is a beautiful and great pup!!!

Adult American Akita - 4 1/2 years old named "KITA"

🐾 Meet Kita: The Ultimate Guardian, Looking for Her Sanctuary

Kita is a stunning 4 and a half-year-old American Akita—loyal, emotionally intelligent, and quietly devoted. She’s the ultimate guardian dog: regal, intuitive, and always by your side. Raised with deep love, she’s incredible with people - sweet, affectionate, and a little sassy once she trusts you.

She’s never been destructive, just grounded, calm, and full of quiet personality. But like many Akitas, she’s dog-reactive and must be the only pet in the home.

What She Needs:
* Land or secure outdoor space (non-negotiable)
* Only-dog household
* A calm, stable home and confident handler (Akita/guardian breed experience ideal)
* Someone emotionally grounded who values companionship

What You Get in Return:
* Off-leash reliability on property
* A constant, calming presence by your side
* Low-maintenance indoor behavior and excellent manners
* A deeply loyal, soulful companion who reads your energy and stays close

Kita has been the heart of her owner’s life for five incredible years. But after a move to a small studio apartment and a shift toward frequent travel, it became clear she was no longer thriving in the city. She’s a dog who needs space, nature, and stability.

She’s been boarding upstate with Jim has absolutely come alive—exploring land off-leash, calmly observing the world, and visibly decompressing. This environment suits her soul, and she deserves to live like this every day.
This isn’t about giving up—it’s about giving her more.
